Outstanding Success

Last year, the Stidham barn had an outstanding time of it, finishing the season among the top echelons of the sport with 68 wins on the board and $4,495,091 in overall prize-money earned–incredibly, the fourth time in a row he’s topped the $4 million mark–along with a fantastic 19% win rate that included a host of big race victories, none bigger than Proxy’s well-deserved win in the G1 Clark Stakes. Stidham’s 2022 big race haul also included Princess Grace’s G3 victory in the prestigious Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes, along with a host of other big race wins that made it a year never to forget.

As you can see, year in, year out, Stidham’s results reveal a shrewd and canny handler with a keen eye for finding the right spots for his horses. Underlying those results, however, is a more fundamental factor in Stidham’s continued success: his rare understanding of the racehorse and his intuitive ability to know when to forge on with a horse and when to give it the time needed to mature. These talents combined are a potent mix, and they’re the reason why Stidham is one of the most revered and prolific trainers in the nation.
