The Stidham stable's barrelling into a potentially lucrative weekend of action on the back of an impressive win yesterday by Blame and Fortune for her owners, MKW Racing.
Given a confident ride by Julio Hernandez, Blame and Fortune quickly took herself to the lead, and she never looked back, eventually pulling more than two lengths clear of the runner up to win quite cosily in the end.
This three-year-old daughter of Blame was a $300,000 yearling. With this lovely maiden victory under her belt, she can move up from here and continue to fulfil the evident promise she's shown so far.
Now to tomorrow at Delaware Park, the headline act being Luv Your Neighbor (pictured above) who lines up 7 of 9 in the Gr 3 $300,000 Delaware Oaks, over 1 and 1/16th miles. .
Luv Your Neighbor has been a real superstar this season, her career trajectory taking her to a super second place finish last time out in the G2 Eight Belles Stakes at Churchill Downs.
This three-year-old daughter of Constitution is more than overdue a win in a race of this nature, and she's a 2-1 shot to prevail tomorrow under Luis Saez.
A few races earlier on the same card, Amalfi Drive is seeking a first stakes win in the $150,000 Obeah Stakes, also run over 1 and 1/16th miles.
Drawn 1 of 8 runners, Amalfi Drive is taking a step up in class after an eye-catching victory at Churchill Downs last month in an allowance optional claimer. She's a 5-1 shot on the Morning Line with Saez also on board.
