This past week has been a very productive one for the stable, with a couple nice victories that highlight the excellent form of the yard.
One week ago today, DARRS Inc's Global Sensation was a tough winner at Turfway Park, slugging out a head victory under Axel Concepcion. Global Sensation, however, was subsequently claimed out of the yard.
One day later at Fair Grounds, Elizabeth Barry's Truly Grateful made it second time lucky when breaking her maiden under Ben Curtis. It was a thoroughly likeable performance, and this 4-year-old daughter of Violence will have learned a lot from the experience.
Now to the weekend, with Pago Hop Stakes winner Tufani gunning for more Black Type in the $100,000 Marie G. Krantz Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds, over 1 and 1/16th miles on the turf. Drawn the outside, Tufani is a 5-2 shot under Ben Curtis.
Over at Turfway Park, the exciting Record Time lines up in an early Derby prep, the $125,000 Leonatus Stakes, over a mile on the all-weather. Unbeaten in two starts, Record Time is a 10-1 shot tomorrow under Joe Talamo. This 3-year-old son of Not This Time has drawn the outside post.
