Stable standard-bearer Proxy put up a magnificent performance to finish third in the G1 Breeders' Cup Classic over the weekend, cementing his resume with arguably a career-best performance before he heads off to stud at Darley's Jonabell Farm.
Proxy, under Joel Rosario, made up a ton of ground in the straight to make a fast-finishing third behind White Albarrio, the eventual winner.
Godolphin's home-bred five-year-old son of Tapit has enjoyed an incredible career under Mike Stidham's excellent tutelage. He won the G1 Clark Stakes at Churchill Downs last year.
This season, he augmented wins in the G3 Monmouth Cup Stakes and the G2 Oaklawn Handicap with fantastic place finishes in three G1s. He'll be sorely missed at the barn.
Proxy wasn't the only stable runner to distinguish himself over the weekend.
Yesterday, Kildare Stud's Late Nite Lizzie made it third time lucky with a lovely maiden victory at Churchill Downs. This two-year-old daughter of Palace Malice was subsequently claimed out of the yard.
