Weekend Update!

Though these past seven days have been a little quieter than the fireworks of prior weeks, the Stidham barn remains in fine form.
Last Friday at Colonial Downs, Speedway Stables and Stone Farm's homebred Compatriot made a second start a winning one.
Given a patient ride by Paco Lopez, Compatriot didn't get the best of starts, but angled a few wide around the turn and really stuck to his guns down the stretch to claim a neck victory at the wire. A really admirable performance, one that justifies the patience of his connections.
This four-year-old son of Curlin is out of a well-bred mare who raced in England.
On his first career start last month, Compatriot showed talent to finish third at Delaware Park. This performance showed he's stepped up on that run, with plenty more room for improvement.
Compatriot's certainly one to keep an eye on as his career progresses.
The stable has just the one entry this weekend:
Saturday
