Weekend Update!

Godolphin enjoyed an exciting debut winner this week courtesy of the well-bred Akoya, who got the job well done at Presque Isle Downs on Wednesday.

Ridden positively by Teshawn Hazelwood in this six furlong contest, Akoya hustled the pace through the turn then rallied from the upper stretch to ultimately prevail by three-quarters of a length.

This two-year old daughter of Midshipman is out of a lovely home-bred family that Stidham knows well. Patiently brought along by connections, Akoya looks to have a bright future ahead of her, with a step up in trip likely on the cards.
