Scratched from the red-hot New Orleans Classic last weekend, Maycocks Bay (pictured) is looking for swift recompense tomorrow in the American Pharoah Overnight Stakes at Fair Grounds, a $145,000 contest over 1 and 1/16th miles.
Maycocks Bay made an eye-catching return to action after an extended break with a decisive win last December. He ran a barnstormer last time out in the GIII Mineshaft to finish third.
Tomorrow, Maycocks Bay is drawn 7 of 10, with Ben Curtis in the driving seat. He's a 3-1 shot on the Morning Line to claim his first stakes race victory. This talented homebred son of Speightstown certainly couldn't be going into the race in better heart.
