Weekend Update!

Tomorrow is gearing up to be another important step in the nascent career of Tom's Magic (pictured above), who lines up in the $100,000 Tale of the Cat Stakes at Monmouth Park.

Tom's Magic was all set to run in the Pennine Ridge Stakes at Saratoga earlier this month, but was scratched due to the soft turf.

In tomorrow's Tale of the Cat Stakes, a 1 and 1/16th turf contest, Tom's Magic is drawn on the inside, and enjoys the services of Axel Concepcion in the saddle. Together, they're a 6-1 shot on the Morning Line.

Tom's Magic is already a stakes winner, having claimed the Black Gold Stakes at Fair Grounds in March. He found life a little tougher in the G3 Transylvania Stakes next time up, but there were valid excuses that day, and he has certainly shaped as though he's capable of much more.
