After a brief lull it's business as usual for the Stidham barn, with Montador (pictured above) going for gold in the G3 Commonwealth Turf Stakes at Churchill Downs tomorrow.
Before we take a look at his chances, let's take a look back at last weekend and a really nice performance from the upwardly mobile Energize.
Given a lovely positive ride by Luis Saez, Energize struck for home mid-stretch before knuckling out a 3/4 length win at the wire.
Godolphin's 3-year-old son of Medaglia d'Oro has been slowly improving all year. This win proves that he hasn't reached his ceiling yet.
And now to this weekend, with Montador drawn 3 of 11 in tomorrow's $300,000 Commonwealth Turf Stakes, a turf contest over 1 1/16th miles.
Montador has a similar profile to his stablemate Energize, a three-year Godolphin homebred who has won two of his last three starts.
Luis Saez takes the ride on this son of Nyquist. They're a 5-1 shot on the Morning Line.
And here's the stable's other entry tomorrow:
