Weekend Update

A huge weekend of action includes the return to the track at Woodbine of stable star Maycocks Bay (at the scene of his biggest win to date).

But before we look at the team, let's take a look back at last weekend, and a lovely victory for James Bredin's Dip Fantasia, who took the race by the scruff of the neck before eking out a half-length victory at the wire under Jose Batista.

This was a second career win for the homebred daughter of The Factor, who has done her connections proud the last two years.

And now to tomorrow, with Maycocks Bay (pictured above) returning to the scene of his tremendous G2 Eclipse Stakes victory.

Drawn 3 of 5 in tomorrow's $175,000 G3 Durham Cup Stakes over a mile and 1/16th, Maycocks Bay has the services of Pietro Moran in the saddle.

This fantastic son of Speightstown has been in wonderful form all year, and he's a 3/5 shot on the Morning Line to replicate his resounding victory at the same track from May.

One race earlier, Epic Style is looking to claim her first slice of Black Type when lining up in the $125,000 Sweet Briar Too Stakes, a six-furlong sprint on the turf.

An excellent winner last time out in a valuable Kentucky Downs contest, Epic Style comes to this race in fine form. She's a 4-1 shot on the Morning Line to prevail tomorrow under Moran.

Over at Louisiana Downs, Benji Star is making his own step up in grade when drawn 6 of 7 in the $75,000 Louisiana Cup Sprint S.takes, a six-furlong sprint. Timothy Thornton rides.

What a superb and thoroughly consistent horse Benji Star has been over the years (only out of the first three four times in his 14-race career). And he's a 2-1 shot to make his mark again tomorrow.
