Weekend Update!

The Stidham stable's galloping into what could be a very profitable weekend indeed for the barn.

Tomorrow at Fair Grounds, the talented Beekman Street is drawn 6 of 8 in the $100,000 Black Gold Stakes, a 1 mile and 1/16th turf race.

The now three-year-old Beekman Street broke his maiden over a mile over the same course last November, doing it very nicely indeed. He's a 4-1 shot on the Morning Line to prevail tomorrow in his first try at some black type. Brian Hernandez takes the mount.

Over at Gulfstream Park, the on-song Love Song is drawn 8 of 9 in the $175,000 G3 The Very One Stakes, a 1 and 1/8th mile turf contest. John Velazquez takes the ride.

Love Song has been an admirably tough and consistent performer for the stable, and while tomorrow's going to be her hardest assignment to date, another bang up performance is expected. She's an 8-1 shot on the Morning Line.

Before we take a look at the rest of the weekend entries, say hello to Mike's first grandchild, Anderson Michael Waller, (pictured) visiting the barn for the first time! Future champion trainer in the making?
