What a weekend it promises to be for the yard, with a triumvirate of big race runners going for gold at Fair Grounds.
Let's start with the G2 $300,000 Muniz Memorial Classic Stakes tomorrow, a turf contest over 1 and 1/8th miles, with both Tom's Magic (pictured above) and Montador making their second appearances of the season.
Three-time stakes winning Tom's Magic (drawn 5 of 7) was last seen finishing runner up in the G3 Tampa Bay Stakes, staying on stylishly after the winner got first jump over the field. This time, Tom's Magic has Luis Saez on board, and they're a 5-1 shot on the Morning Line.
Drawn 2, Montador was last seen finishing runner-up in the G3 Fair Grounds Stakes when he finished well after hitting a bit of traffic trouble mid-race. With Tyler Gaffalione on board, they're a 7-2 shot on the Morning Line.
One race later, the lovely Luv Your Neighbor is drawn 4 of 7 in the $400,000 G2 Fasig-Tipton Fair Grounds Oaks, a classic trial over 1 and 1/16th miles.
Luv Your Neighbor was so unfortunate not to win the G2 Rachel Alexandra Stakes at Fair Grounds last month, just touched off by Bella Ballerina (who re-opposes tomorrow).
Luis Saez is on duty tomorrow on the 7-2 shot. This fabulous 3-year-old daughter of Constitution is as tough and reliable as they come, and another big run is expected.
