This weekend promises to be a big couple of days for the barn, with three stakes runners in two countries!
Let's start with tomorrow at Woodbine, when Panama Red lines up in the $125,000 Sweet Briar Too Stakes.
Drawn 2 of 11 in the six furlong turf contest, Panama Red has the able services of Sofia Vives in the saddle. Panama Red is an 8-1 shot on the Morning Line to add another stakes victory to her resume.
Over at Laurel Park on Sunday, Distorted d'Oro is drawn 3 in the $100,000 Searching Stakes, a turf race over 1 and 1/16th miles. Julio Hernandez takes the ride.
This exciting daughter of Medaglia d'Oro is two for two in her career (both wins coming in June and July), and she's a 5-1 shot to make her first foray into stakes territory a winning one.
Later on the same card, the Grade II-winning Affirmative Lady is drawn 8 of 9 in the $100,000 Caesar's Wish Stakes, over 1 and 1/16th miles. Again, Julio Hernandez is on board.
A 3-1 shot on the Morning Line, Affirmative Lady is making her first start since May of 2023 (in the G1 Kentucky Oaks), as well as her first start for the Stidham stable. It'll be great to see this talented daughter of Arrogate back on track.
